Dalo Deka has deep roots in thrilling documentary film. Founder Jon J. Ryan served on many series and documentaries during his time with the National Geographic. This portfolio includes America’s National Parks, Paradise Islands, and numerous specials for Shark Fest.

These dynamic experiences fostered a wealth of unique production skills. Work in the field spanned environments such as the backwoods of the Smoky Mountains to crashing waves miles off the coast of Florida. Whether filming bears or bull sharks, these conditions honed the ability for high intensity problem solving.

With this foundation, Dalo Deka approaches projects with creative edge, thorough planning, and the know-how to bring vision to life.

In addition to creative filmmaking, Jon led a Mentorship program for individuals with disabilities. The program paired staff from Nat Geo with Neurodiverse individuals in the DC community. Participants in the Mentorship thrived and received incredible access to the organization’s resources. Seeing their growth was Jon’s proudest moment with the Geographic and set a baseline when building relationships with new partners.
